In the role you will lead data engineering projects and strengthen the current data and digital ecosystems that provide accessible and high-quality information for decision-making. You need to combine and leverage all available and relevant data and fully leverage Sandoz’ global data & digital capabilities.

As a data engineer, you are expected to constantly question the status-quo, deliver actionable insights, anticipate, and act pro-actively to help the company to make a difference in data driven decision making. The role owner is also expected to represent the Digital & Commercial Excellence team requiring him/her to understand the full breath of the team’s activities.

Minimum requirements

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing and optimizing our data infrastructure by performing data engineering tasks such as (automated) data extraction from internal and external sources, cleaning and transforming data, setting up (cloud) databases;
  • Constantly and proactively aligning with key business stakeholders to understand unmet needs and translate into data engineering use cases and data engineering solutions;
  • Collaborating with data scientists in global teams to enable them to create valuable models for Sandoz Netherlands;
  • Harmonizing the data and digital ecosystems, fully connected to and integrated with the Datawarehouse;
  • Supporting the designing front-end dashboards/reports in QlikSense or Excel.
What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Higher professional education (Bachelor and/or WO) in related fields and/or recognized data certifications;
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering;
  • Proficiency in English (written & spoken). Dutch is an advantage;
  • Experience with ETL tools, or experience with a data science toolkit (Python, R, SQL);
  • Strong innovative mindset and “can do” attitude;
  • A collaborative nature and good ability to work in teams paired with confidence in presenting to and working closely with senior stakeholders.
